This should never happen in a healing space.

Aug 30, 2025

I never thought I’d write something like this. But I need to.

Last week in Manhattan, Kansas, a second male chiropractor was convicted of sexually violating female clients.

The first was charged with one count.
The second—51.

I am sad to admit that I was one of them.
And I went back—once.

That’s the part that feels hardest to explain, and yet I know so many women will understand it in their bones. When someone carries the title of “healer,” when their tone is calm and reassuring, your defenses drop. You think: Surely this is fine. Maybe this is just a technique I’ve never heard of.

I knew better. I’ve studied trauma. I understand professional boundaries.
And still—I went back.

Because grooming doesn’t usually happen all at once. It starts with subtle boundary crossings that barely register. A little too close. A touch that lingers. An explanation that sounds clinical—just enough to keep you quiet.

That’s how it works.
That’s how women start doubting themselves instead of the practitioner.
And that’s how predators get away with it.

So let me be absolutely clear:

  • Chiropractic care should never involve vaginal or anal contact.

  • There is no clinical justification for internal touch.

  • Ethical chiropractic work is performed over clothing, with consent, communication, and professional boundaries at all times.

If someone crosses that line, it’s not a technique.
It’s not a misunderstood intention.
It’s sexual assault.

This isn’t about attacking a profession. It’s about accountability. It’s about naming abuse when it happens—especially when it hides behind degrees and wellness rhetoric.

If this happened to you—or someone you love—please don’t stay silent.
File a report with your state’s Board of Healing Arts.
Call the police.

I did.
And I’m grateful to say: the system worked.
This chiropractor was convicted on 51 counts. He will face the consequences of his actions.

We’ve been conditioned for centuries to stay quiet.
To avoid being dramatic.
To second-guess our discomfort.

But here’s what I know now:

What happened to me was not my fault.
What happened to you is not your fault.

We have to stop pretending this isn’t happening.
We have to stop assuming credentials equal character.
And we must start trusting ourselves again.

Even if your voice shakes.
Even if you went back.
Even if you’re still unraveling the truth from the gaslighting—

Your experience is valid. And you deserve to be heard.

No more silence.
Not in 2025.
Not now.

This shit has got to stop.

And one more thing—because it matters:

We don’t have to let two bad apples poison the whole profession. There are so many outstanding male chiropractors who care deeply about their patients and practice with integrity.

In my own community—Manhattan, Kansas—I’ve received excellent care from:

  • Chiropractic Natural Health Care

  • Nichols Chiropractic

  • Alternative Health Care

  • Manhattan Family Chiropractic
(And I know there are more.)

This post is not about condemnation. It’s about clarity, truth, and protecting others from harm.

Speak up.
Trust yourself.
And know this: you are not alone.
